Bollywood heads to Northern Ireland

The UK's biggest Bollywood group is heading to Newtownabbey next month 4ni.co.uk reports, adding their sound to the rich variety of music in Northern Ireland.

Desi Brave Hearts will perform at the annual Diwali (Festival of Lights) showcase, which is one of the biggest events in Northern Ireland.

The occasion is organised by the multi-ethnic arts organisation ArtsEkta and marks the celebration of the Indian New Year, the news provider claims.

Joining the Desi Brave Hearts will be Nachda Sansaar, who is one of the top Bhangra performers in the UK.

Nisha Tandon, the festival organiser, told the website she is proud to hold the event, which will involve many people coming together.

"We are extremely proud to be celebrating Diwali in Newtownabbey for the second time … although Diwali is traditionally an Indian festival, ArtsEkta is proud to host the event on an international level with many different cultures participating," she added.

ArtsEkta states its aim is to promote ethnic arts to people from the north and south of Ireland regardless of their age, gender, disability or nationality.
