Bob the Builder to switch on Belfast Christmas lights

13 November 2009 -

This year's Belfast Christmas lights will be switched on by Bob the Builder in an event marking the official start of the city's yuletide celebrations.

The event will take place at Belfast City Hall on November 24th, when the children's TV favorite will be on hand to press the button and light up the city ahead of the festive season.

As well as performing festive music in Northern Ireland with hits from his Never Mind the Breeze Blocks album, Bob will be joined by TV presenter Kirsten O'Brien.

Lord Mayor Naomi Long will be present along with a host of pantomime characters, plus the Belfast Community Gospel Choir will be filling the air with more festive music in Northern Ireland as they sing carols to get attendees into the Christmas spirit.

Meanwhile, those in Belfast on December 5th and 6th will be able to visit the city's St. George's Christmas Craft Fair.ADNFCR-1859-ID-19459030-ADNFCR
