Leading women's movie festival Birds Eye View will come to Queen's Film Theatre (QFT) in Belfast from May 15th to 17th.
In news which may interest those looking for events focusing on films in Northern Ireland, the festival will show a number of pictures and feature a discussion panel of women successfully working in film who will offer inspiration and tips for those looking to pursue a career in the industry.
QFT manager Susan Picken commented that since the festival was launched in 2005 it has highlighted the wealth of talent and potential that women bring to film.
"It is vital to the health and diversity of UK film that we raise role models, offer support and provide a forum for women in the industry, whilst encouraging the next generation to break new ground," she added.
Last month, Northern Ireland's reputation as a first-class filming location was reinforced when US-based cable channel HBO announced it is to film a TV pilot in the country this year, which will require the building of a new set in the Paint Hall in Belfast.
