Belfast zoo goes festive

9 December 2008 -

Children can combine their love of animals and Santa this month as Father Christmas comes to Belfast Zoo.

The festive figure will be stopping at the grotto in the attraction alongside some of his elves, to find out what children want for Christmas.

Families going to the event can also make seasonal crafts and take presents to the animals.

Children are encouraged to wrap up food parcels to be taken into the chimpanzee and gorilla enclosures.

The festivities will also include carol singing around the Christmas tree and each child who visits Santa will get a present.

Entry to the event costs £6 in addition to the normal charge of entering the zoo and the event will run from December 13th to 21st.

Visitors to the zoo can see a variety of creatures, including penguins, monkeys, lions and lemurs.

The latest animal to arrive at the wildlife park is Bozo the eastern bongo, who was born at the end of October.ADNFCR-1859-ID-18919128-ADNFCR
