A new plaque has been unveiled in south Belfast which honours the creator of some of the finest literature in Northern Ireland.
Those visiting the city can now take a trip to 2 Crescent Gardens, where Sam Hanna Bell lived while penning the classic novel December Bride.
The memorial was unveiled by culture minister Nelson McCausland, who said it is a fitting tribute to a man who made a great contribution to broadcasting and literature in Northern Ireland's capital.
"Many of Sam's novels and short stories brought to life the Ulster-Scots language and culture to a variety of readers across Northern Ireland and around the world. They are an extremely valuable part of our rich cultural and artistic heritage," he explained.
Meanwhile, a number of workshops are currently being held across Belfast to celebrate literature in Northern Ireland and encourage ideas for the construction of a new artwork called Rise, which will be situated on the Broadway Roundabout.
