Belfast music event gets spring in its step

16 December 2008 -

A spring event will be held for the West Belfast Festival in addition to its usual larger summer gathering.

The organisation will host a spring festival, also known as the Féile an Earraigh, in February next year.

Organisers intend the event to cover all things Irish and the festival is also a celebration of music.

The sister event of the main August gathering occurs largely in West Belfast and has music to suit all tastes, from choral numbers to traditional Irish music.

It also includes workshops for budding musicians, walking tours through the area and concerts from local and international artists.

The event will be running from February 7th to 10th in 2009 and also includes a family fun day, to get people of all ages involved.

Belfast's August event of Feile an Phobail, one of the largest community festival organisations in Europe, celebrated its 20th birthday this year.ADNFCR-1859-ID-18931523-ADNFCR
