About

The small seaside town of Newcastle nestles at the foot of the Mourne Mountains on the County Down Coast. Overlooking Newcastle beach, this recently refurbished hostel/backpackers offers budget accommodation with self service breakfast included, suited to groups, families and individuals. Ideal for walkers, climbers, ramblers and mountain bikers who wish to explore the majestic Mourne Mountains. The hostel is located in the centre of Newcastle seaside resort with good access to all amenities and close to Castlewellan Forest Park, Mountains of Mourne, Murlough Beach and Soak Seaweed Baths.

There are a range of room sizes available, a fully equipped self catering kitchen and a self-contained family apartment which can accommodate up to six people. We have a laundry and large drying room facility especially suited to the "mucky" outdoor adventurer. A cosy lounge with a log burning stove and games room to help you relax. A children’s adventure playground is located across the road from the hostel. There is also plenty of car parking close by.

Hutt Hostel is perfect for anyone seeking an adventure/seaside holiday and sampling the wide range of outdoor activities on offer nearby such as horse riding, rock climbing, hill walking and canoeing.

Directions:
As you approach Newcastle turn left at the top of Main Street and then right into Downs Road, opposite the seafront. A car park is located opposite the hostel.

In 2015 the Hutt Hostel were awarded a Bronze Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
