About

Belfast Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Church of St. Anne, has stood for over 100 years as a place of Christian worship in the heart of Belfast.

The foundation stone of the Cathedral was laid in 1899 and the building itself, Romanesque in style, continued to grow over the years. The 40 metre stainless steel Spire of Hope was added in 2007.

The Cathedral contains detailed mosaics by the sisters Gertrude and Margaret Martin, elaborately carved stonework by sculptors Rosamond Praeger, Morris Harding and Esmond Burton, beautiful stained glass windows and more.

The Chapel of the Holy Spirit is free to visit for quiet prayer. Please visit our website for further details.
