About

Get off the beaten track atop your top-of-the range electric mountain bike, on a guided exploration of the unspoilt wilderness of West Fermanagh.

You'll cruise across old bog roads and forest tracks, discovering hidden megalithic tombs as you go, before your route emerges to unveil sweeping views over Lough Macnean and its islands. Your guide will reveal the secrets of the bog, historical family feuds and what life was like here 6000 years ago in Neolithic times.

There's no strenous hills here as your e-bike takes the hard work out of the cycle, making it perfect for families and groups with varying degrees of fitness. You can travel on rougher tracks and paths too, enjoying the feel of the extra push from your bike. Relax. Harmonise with nature. Take in the scenery and enjoy the bird song.

During this experience you'll encounter an extensive maze of caves, stopping at Pollnagolllum or ‘Cave of the doves’ on your way. These caves attract cavers and potholers from far and wide. Not to mention bats, which you may be lucky enough to spot. You might catch a glimpse of an Irish Hare too. A sacred creature in Irish folklore, the hare is one of the more intriguing mammals found in the Belmore uplands.

Then it’s just a short distance to The Linnet Inn in Boho, also known as McKenzie’s. A family-run pub owned by Dessie McKenzie, it’s an old coach house and the last thatched pub in the county. You’re miles away from the rest of civilisation here. But that turf-lit fire makes for a very cosy atmosphere.

Before your tour is over, enjoy a hearty local speciality “boxty” with a hot cup of tea as you admire the breath-taking views of west Fermanagh. Then it's time for a last cycle home, feeling energised and refreshed, both mentally and physically!
